ACCESS EVENTS
The Partnership and Access Programme organises a number of activities throughout the year, which provide access to both the Upper and Lower Schools. This enables visitors to view the buildings and offers opportunities to experience the world-renowned training of The Royal Ballet School.
Insight Days
These are open to either members of the general public or school groups, and offer the opportunity for people to watch a ballet class at the Lower or Upper School. They include information about ballet training and The Royal Ballet School and the audience members have the chance to ask staff and students questions.
Richmond Schools Project
Each year, we work with up to five local secondary schools on a two-day choreographic project at the Lower School, White Lodge. Students work with a Dance Partnership and Access artist to create a unique dance piece, which is performed at the Richmond Arts event, RichDance, and at any other suitable local performances.
Residential Course
In partnership with Youth Dance England and the Royal Opera House, the Dance Partnership and Access Programme hosts a residential course for young people in the Easter holiday. This forms part of YDE’s Young Creatives Programme, which aims to develop the skills of young choreographers to create high quality dance.
