FEES & FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

No potential student should be discouraged by lack of financial means from making an application to the School.

The Royal Ballet School is a member of the U.K. Government’s Music and Dance Scheme designed to enable young, talented dancers and musicians to receive full-time education and training at a specialist school irrespective of their parents’ financial means.

Successful applicants who satisfy UK residency requirements receive means-tested financial assistance for both tuition fees and maintenance/boarding costs.

Successful applicants who satisfy European Economic Area residence requirements and are over the age of 16 receive means-tested financial assistance for tuition fees.

Non EEA applicants are not eligible for U.K. Government support and must therefore be able to pay full fees and maintenance. However, the School does have limited Scholarship and Bursary funds available to assist certain students, which are awarded at the Director’s discretion.

Typical parental contributions are shown below.

When available, bursaries may also be allocated to assist students on our Junior, Mid & Senior Associate courses and both Summer Schools.

Withdrawal from the School: The Governors reserve the right to require the withdrawal from the School of any student who does not appear likely to benefit from the training provided. One full term’s notice in writing must be given by a parent wishing to withdraw a pupil from the School. Should any pupil be withdrawn without any such notice being given, it is part of the Contract between the Governors and the parent that the parent shall pay the full fee (not just the Parental Contribution) for the next term following in addition to any fees for the term in which the pupil is withdrawn.
Withdrawal from an Associate Course: A full term’s notice must be given if a child is to be withdrawn from the Junior, Mid or Senior Associate classes.
Acceptance (International Students): All International students once accepted are admitted for a minimum period of one year, subject to satisfactory progress and conduct. The year's fees become due one week before the beginning of the first term. In no circumstances will any balance of the year's fees be repaid if the student does not complete the year of training. Should the period of training be extended beyond one year, fees in advance of the additional period must be paid and on the same conditions.
