Ballet Association

On Wednesday 3 March 2010, two students from The Royal Ballet School, accompanied by Royal Ballet School Assistant Director Jay Jolley, were invited to give a special talk at the March meeting of The Ballet Association at Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church in London’s West End.

The students had been invited as winners of the 2009 Ballet Association Award - a special award presented to first and second year overseas students of The Royal Ballet School.

Australian-born Imogen Chapman and American-born Angela Wood talked about their early careers in dance in their respective countries and how they had won places at The Royal Ballet School.

Angela and Imogen were presented with bouquets and the members wished them every success with a rousing round of applause.

The Ballet Association is a well-established and energetic group of enthusiasts. It was set up almost 40 years ago to give active support to The Royal Ballet group of companies and to promote interest in all aspects of their work.
