The Royal Ballet School at Gleneagles
The Royal Ballet School’s Outreach Programme has just returned from giving an intensive weekend of ballet training for young dance students at The Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland. The Royal Ballet School Associate Experience attracted 75 youngsters, aged between 8 and 16, from dance schools throughout Scotland from Aberdeen to Glasgow with one or two students travelling from across the border.
Assistant Director Jay Jolley, Principal - Outreach Kathryn Wade and Outreach Coordinator Sylvia Hubbard taught a variety of classes in the Grand Ballroom of the Gleneagles Hotel on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 June. The Royal Ballet School’s artistic team was supplemented by ballet teacher Penny Withers, a former graduate of the Royal Ballet School, and pianist Alan Costello.
Principal - Outreach Kathryn Wade comments:
The Royal Ballet School Associate Experience was a tremendously successful weekend with all the students working really hard and learning a great deal. We are particularly grateful to Natalie Garry for coordinating the project and to the staff at The Gleneagles Hotel for their warm welcome and unstinting support throughout. We hope to return to Gleneagles sometime in the future.’
