The 2010 Kenneth MacMillan Senior Choreographic Competition – results announced
The annual Kenneth MacMillan Senior Choreographic Competition was held at the Lower School, White Lodge on Thursday 25 November.
This year’s judges were Dame Monica Mason DBE, Director of The Royal Ballet, Jeanetta Laurence, Assistant Director of The Royal Ballet and Richard Glasstone, dance teacher, choreographer and author.
The judges’ results were as follows:
1st Prize: Barny Sharratt (Year 11) - Amazonia, music by Ravi
2nd Prize: Jessica West (Year 11) - Resonance, music by David Lang
3rd Prize: Peter Allen (Year 11) - Hearsay, music by John Williams
Together with the Ninette de Valois Junior Choreographic Award (for students aged 11 - 14 years), the Kenneth MacMillan Senior Choreographic Competition (for students 14 - 16 years) is one of two choreographic competitions held at White Lodge each year and is an integral part of the students’ choreographic training.
