Award-winning author visits White Lodge
The Royal Ballet School’s English Department runs a programme of visits by well-known authors. The initiative of English teacher Charlotte Taylor, this programme is designed to engage Royal Ballet School students with literature and encourage them to develop their own creative writing skills.
The most recent of these visits to the Lower School was on 22 March and featured multi award-winning author of fiction for young people and young adults, Marcus Sedgwick.
Sedgwick, whose titles include My Swordhand is Singing, Revolver, White Crow and Midwinterblood spent an hour with a group of students talking about his approach to his writing. The session ended with many questions from the class and the author signed copies of his books for the students.
