The Royal Ballet School receives outstanding report from the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI)

Students and staff of The Royal Ballet School returned for the first day of term today with the announcement of positive news for the new year!

The Independent Schools Inspectorate, who conducted an inspection of both the Upper and Lower Schools in October and November 2011, has published its report, examining all aspects of School activity.

The report begins by describing both students’ achievements and students’ personal development as ‘excellent’ adding that ‘the aims of the School are fulfilled and promoted by the governing body in an outstanding way'.

The three main areas covered by the inspection and detailed in the report are:

The quality of academic and other achievements
The quality of the pupils’ personal development
The effectiveness of governance, leadership and management

In each area, the standard of achievement is consistently described as ‘excellent’ or ‘outstanding’.

Commenting on the report, Director of The Royal Ballet School Gailene Stock AM said:

I am so pleased that the School has received such a positive report from the ISI, reinvigorating us all as we start a new term and a new year. I would like to thank all of the students, teachers and staff who have made this achievement possible by their hard work and commitment to the aims of The Royal Ballet School.
