White Lodge to be featured on ITV Daybreak on 1 June

A film crew from ITV Daybreak visited White Lodge yesterday (Thursday, 10 May) as part of a feature being made to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth ll.

Fronted by Gethin Jones, this special feature will visit a series of landmark buildings and locations associated with The Queen and one of these is White Lodge.

Former Blue Peter presenter Gethin visited the White Lodge Museum and Ballet Resource Centre where Curator Anna Meadmore explained Her Majesty’s connections to White Lodge, focussing on the Museum exhibit of the Queen’s birth certificate which lists the former Royal Hunting Lodge as ‘parent’s address’ (White Lodge was the first marital home of HM The Queen Mother and King George Vl).

Demonstrating that he is no stranger to the dance studio (he was a Strictly Come Dancing contestant in 2007) Gethin visited a class of Year 7 boys being put through their daily ballet class by teacher Hope Keelan in the Pavlova Studio. Afterwards, the boys relaxed and chatted to Gethin about their own plans for celebrating the Diamond Jubilee.

Watch the entire broadcast on ITV Daybreak on 1 June.
