A Merry Christmas from Darcey Bussell
Darcey Bussell dropped into the Upper School in Covent Garden yesterday (Thursday 13 December) to wish students a Merry Christmas before the end of term and to sign copies of her new book Darcey Bussell: A Life in Pictures.
One of the School’s most illustrious former students, Darcey was greeted by graduate-year students Suzan Operman with Matthew Ball presenting a red rose. The former Principal Dancer of The Royal Ballet and judge on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing signed several copies of her books, and enjoyed a festive mince pie with the students.
Darcey Bussell: A Life in Pictures features a stunning collection of photographs by some of the world’s finest photographers including Mario Testino, Anthony Crickmay and Byan Adams. Performance photographs, back stage photographs are complemented by intimate images giving a fuller picture of Darcey Bussell’s life as one of the most celebrated British dancers of her generation. The book is available from the Royal Opera House Shop at £30. Copies of the book can be ordered by contacting the Royal Opera House shop at http://www.roh.org.uk/visit/shop
