Associate students raise £800 for Bethany's Wish
Associate students in eight centres around the country have raised £800 pounds for Bethany’s Wish, a charity concerned with Wilm’s kidney tumours in children.
Bethany Polanco was a little girl who auditioned for the Associate Programme last year and, while she was very talented, The Royal Ballet School was unable to offer her a place immediately due to health problems. Sadly, Bethany passed away after suffering a form of kidney cancer known as Wilm’s tumour. She was just eight years old. Bethany had a love of ballet and a passion for dancing which helped her through a very difficult treatment programme.
To support a number of Teddy Bear’s picnics organised by Bethany’s Wish, Associates decided to invite their teddies to watch class for a small fee. Some even had a small tea party in Bethany’s memory while one student, Sacha Coughlan, organised her own cake sale and raised a fantastic £80.
Well done to all the Associates involved for helping Bethany’s Wish with such enthusiasm and spirit!
