Visit White Lodge as part of Open House London 2013
Our Lower School campus, White Lodge, will once again be participating in Open House London, the city-wide architectural celebration.
On both Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 September, White Lodge will be opening its doors with free entry from 10am–12.30pm.
Visitors can enjoy access to the fine rooms of this Grade I listed English Palladian Villa, and learn how use of the building has changed from a former royal hunting residence to the home of The Royal Ballet Lower School. The tour concludes at White Lodge Museum where visitors can further explore the development of the building and the history of ballet, with a focus on The Royal Ballet School and Companies.
A small exhibition, Arcadia Revisited, will showcase new works created by local contemporary artists of the Arcadian vista from White Lodge to Pen Ponds. This project forms part of the Richmond Gardens Festival 2013.
On the Saturday we will be joined by The Lovekyn Consort who will play a variety of English, Scottish and Italian Baroque trios. We very much look forward to welcoming them, and hope visitors enjoy this very special addition to their visit.
There is no need to book to visit at Open House weekend. Visitors will be admitted in groups at regular intervals, however an early arrival is recommended to minimise queuing.
