SOME of Jersey’s young ballet dancers will be taking part in masterclasses led by The Royal Ballet School’s Outreach Programme this Saturday (18 September) at the Jersey Opera House.
Thanks to the sponsor, De Putron Fund Management, dancers between the ages of eight and 13 will receive professional tuition and guidance from teachers from one of the world’s great ballet schools.
Local students have travelled to Guernsey to take part in the programme for the last two years and this year sees the programme being held in both islands for the first time.
Hayley de Putron, head of investor relations at De Putron Fund Management, is pleased to be bringing the programme to the islands once again.
“This is a tremendous opportunity for the young dancers. It is a privilege to sponsor this event and I very much look forward to welcoming The Royal Ballet School to Jersey,” she said.
The programme being presented is designed to offer promising young dancers the opportunity to receive world-class training whilst also identifying those who show particular promise and the potential to go further.
“The visit by The Royal Ballet’s School’s Outreach Programme is a great day for all involved but equally, it is a fantastic opportunity for those who have the ability and will to take their interest in ballet to the next level,” said Kathryn Wade, Principal of The Outreach Programme.
